 Sumanth is a well known Telugu actor.BASICS Sumanth was born on February 9th 1975 in Andhra Pradesh. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna is his uncle and his grandfather is Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He completed his schooling in 1992 from Hyderabad Public School and received his B.A degree in Film from Columbia College in Chicago. He stays in Hyderabad with his grandparents. The actor was married to actress Keerthi Reddy in 2004. The couple divorced in 2006. CAREER In 1999, Sumanth starred in Ram Gopal Varma's Prema Katha(1999) which did not do that well on the box office but Sumanth was appreciated for his performance. Some of his movies like Yuvakudu(2000), Pelli Sambandham(2000), and Snehamante Idera(2001) did not do well but finally he came up with a blockbuster Sathyam where his co star was Genelia D'Souza. He gave another hit Gowri in 2004. He played the lead role in Sekhar Kammula's Godavari(2006) and the film received many Nandi Awards. Madhumasam(2007) and Classmates(2007) are the two films he acted in, produced by his uncle, D.Ramanaidu, both the movies proved to be very successful at the box office. Sumanth's most recent release is Ramana Gogula's Boni (2009) which did not do good business. |
